Tim MurphyOBio

Tim Murphy is from Rockford, Illinois, where his first childhood influences were mail order prints from the Perry Picture Company, and his experiences playing in the fields, quarries, and streams near his home.
In his early 20s, he moved to the east coast and worked as a printer for R. E. Townsend Studio of Georgetown, Massachusetts before graduating from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Based in southern Arizona, he has shown his work at Centro D’ Arte e Cultura, Brolo, Mogliano, Veneto, Italy; Davis Dominguez Gallery in Tucson, Arizona; Peyton Wright Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico; William Havu Gallery, Denver, Colorado; Lisa Kurtz Gallery, Memphis, Tennessee.
He is also included in numerous private collections.
